Its a personal thing but i would rather have a plate that connects to the owner rather than the car.

Guess you don't want folk to know the DisAstra's yours????

I agree with the comment about the plate - I will have my plate forever not just one car - even put it on my motability scooter :eusa-whistle: :eusa-whistle:

we've got the family set. The surname's Sokal which rather lends itself to number plates:

J50KAL
M50KAL
R50KAL

Ive had my plate for 7 years ,bought as agift from 'Her Indoors',and it has obviously been bourne on a variety of cars. It may not seem relevant to some but to me it is 'Cherished'

I just sold my lovely old plate.

Had a Lexus GS 300 and bought the plate L33 EXY for £250. This was around 2007.

Sold it last week for £2000. I hope the lucky girl, Lexy, who's parents bought it for her, loves it.

Almost kept it for my 'I'll minx as with a little imagination it could have read LE SEXY......

Anyhow my new plate is quite descriptive of my luscious RCZ in its own way.....and has my initials too

That really would take a lot of imagination !!! I suspect that the buyers hadn't had that thought either.

I have a current private plate which is on the RCZ and I intend to use on all future cars. I have a plate I would like to buy but have never seen it for sale.

I had a prefix K plate that I bought back in 1996 and found a way of getting my money back on it in 2002 so promptly got rid.

I then had P20 GCC mis-placed as P20G CC on my 206CC (picture below).

As much as the CC plate looked good on the car, it also meant something else to be sold when the car went as a dealer wasn't going to pay what the plate was worth on a trade-in. For that reason, it is unlikely that I would buy a car specific plate again.

When I qualified in my job I decided to treat myself to a private plate (WH05 FAY - my name is Faye) When I was younger it used to always annoy me when people spelt my name without an 'e' but was happy to sacrifice the 'e' for a number plate

I've always wanted F4YES but I would have to sell my RCZ to get the funds to buy it as it costs £22,000  and a number plate without a car is not much use to me! When I win the lottery or get myself a rich husband this will be one of my first purchases
