So, here’s a couple of photos of our latest edition frankthedappledachshund.

Frank is 8 weeks old & a miniature dachshund. He is caramel chocolate dapple colour.

The main thing is, the rear seats on the Z are big enough for him

It actually is amazing, but it’s not £1000 worth.

Every time I pick it up I can’t help but hold on just that little bit tighter knowing how much it cost. :?

And that’s just the puppy :eusa-whistle:

Lovely doggy, buy him/her some steel toecap boots! Those tiny tiny feet are so vulnerable to clodhoppers like mine

I have a Border Terrier and I bought a seat protector to stop his claws scratching the leather. I recommend it, 5/5!

My partner and I (sounds posher than "The mrs" :D) want a dog. Possibly an English springer, although I like Alsatians.

Probably need to consider a smaller breed though, as anything bigger wouldn't fit in the Z!

We had a border collie until 2 years ago, it’s been very difficult coming to the decision to get another dog. My OH has been after one for a while, but I wasn’t sure I was ready, being retired, I spent all day every day with him & it actually was like losing a family member.

She originally wanted a Pug, but I wasn’t convinced. Then she decided a Miniature Dachshund was more what she was looking for, totally different from Bailey, although with a similar kind of face.

Anyway, after looking for quite some time, she found Frank, and it’s true , all puppies are cute, but Frank is quite special.

All at have to do now is stop him crying all night every night, cos literally 3 hours sleep in the last 3 nights is starting to take its toll.

This was Bailey.........

I fell your pain Pete and by the way what a cutie - he looks adorable, but I'd not be so keen on his lung exercises every night ! :sleeping-yellow:

We have always had Boxers in our family and when I was in a position to get one I did, that was back in 88, so pretty much the last thirty years we've had boxers. In fact I was involved with the show scene and my second dog ( first was a rescue from a broken home, but he was an international champion and due to some duff information and my naivety, I never showed him ), qualified for Cruffs. We had a really good line and their temperament was outstanding for a family with three little children, so we decided to breed and with sensible programs managed to keep our line going for best part of twenty years. But lucky we have not been, having 6 pups in the final litter, 3 still born due to complications and an emergency caesarean was needed. The remaining pups 2 girls and a boy, - 1 girl had a cleft palate the other suffered kidney failure, so we was left with "Billy" and he was growing in to a fine Boxer and would have been a big lad had he not woke up on Christmas eve morning paralised in his back legs and unfortunately the vet said there was nothing to be done. His mum died three months later of cancer, though by the look on her face every morning, I think she died of a broken heart.
So, we thought we would put something back and rescued a second Boxer - Bruce ! our first brindle and first with a full tail. He had been beaten and unfortunately suffered with bad health, more severe than we first thought and the poor lad died last year only 5yrs old with dementia. Now even writing this now and I have wrote more than I intended - brings a tear to my eye and thus was how I started with the reply - I feel your pain. When we lost our first, though we had children then, we had had our dog longer and it did feel like losing a member of the family.
I know my wife would like another dog, but I must be getting more soft in my old age or I have more compassion, I don't know the right phrase of words, but I'm not sure I could do it again.

Here's a couple of pics... Hope you like.

For the record, my wife also likes Pugs, but I think she is leaning more towards a French Bulldog, but for me Boxer every time........

Cheers Pete hope you have lots of fun with him for years to come, he is a cute little fella, don't know if he's taken with his jumper though Lol.
