So I'm still experiencing a high idle from a cold start about 4/5 starts.

It's also noisy about 1/5, this was a particularly noisy example so I recorded it.

Does anyone know how to upload videos, it's not working for me

You have to upload to a cloud like onedrive on Google or hotmail then attach the shared link.

They are both free.

Yeah, that's the tensioner/chain/guides unfortunately. Mileage and type of oil used?

That's what I feared. But I took it in the garage 4 weeks ago, they had it for 5 days and they said there was nothing up with it. I did tell them I thought it was the tensioner and they told me I was being stupid.

It's under warranty (not Peugeot) should I take it to a Peugeot garage to get diagnosis then see if the warranty company will cover it.

Or if it does more damage are they liable since it's been under their care and they missed it.

I recorded all the phone calls because the warranty company are useless and I didn't trust the garage they made me take it to.

It's a 2012 1.6 petrol, 45,000. I use the Total Quartz INEO ECS. Just recently been serviced and that's when the high idle started.

The high idle at cold start is not an issue, don't worry.

As the timing chain is not a serviceable item, if any wear happens to it, it should be covered as it is NOT a wear and tear item.

Timing chain.
About the coincidence with service, I believe isn't related, unless something was changed.
Most of the time, once sorted, if done properly, shouldn't give you any more problem.
If it's the original one, I would change it (every 4 years/60k miles) plus water pump.

Just as others have said it's the timing chain/tensioner/guides there are new revised kits available to replace the originals but it's a specialist job that either Peugeot or a mini/BMW specialist should be entrusted with cost should be between £500-£600 all in if you have to foot the bill :eusa-think:
Peugeot are now advising using Total ineo first (this is the oil used in a new engine) for future oil changes. And remember it's imperative to keep the oil level topped up, these engines do tend to use oil and running low on the dipstick can damage the timing kit.
Hope you get it sorted under warranty and once done will be trouble free.
