Hey guys, new here. I recently found a misplaced plastic water bottle under the passenger seat and as i pulled it out, it snapped the bar underneath the seat. The seat can no longer move back/forwards. I took car to a local garage & was told it cant be fixed. They contacted Peugeot and was told that they dont sell this part & that id have to buy a whole new seat! Im just wondering if anyone might have a solution, as to how i could repair or replace the part. Im not actually sure what the part is called, but its the bar that connects the left & right sides of seat. Thanks.

Get the part from one of the RCZs being broken on eBay?

drdino, i did think of Ebay, but doubt they'd rip seat out just for a small. Will give it a go anyway. Cheers

If the rod is metal, you could find a metal fabricator and take your broken part to them, they might be able to either weld your broken part, or make a new one.

Can you take a picture of where the broken piece should be the someone can post a similar picture of how it should be.

It might just clip back in!

Its made of plastic, so cant actually be welded. The end of the plastic rod locks into the hole of the seat track/runner.

Do you have warranty with the car?

If so as it's broke you should be able to claim!

Warranty ran out 5 months ago, at the time it was valid, the dealer said the warranty didnt cover seat damage

Dealers have been known to not tell the whole truth.

The warranty would be for mechanical and electrical!

This would not cover things like dashboard splitting, headlining sagging etc.

So they are correct in that it wouldn't cover any fabric problems but the mechanical side should have been covered.

Find out from the warranty people if it would have been covered, they might still cover it particularly if it's was a Peugeot branded warranty.

If that doesn't help then try Peugeot UK HQ customer services, (say that as you don't often carry passengers that move the seat you have only recently noticed it) they may help towards the cost, the worst they can say is no and leave you in the same position you are in at the moment.

I'll give it a go & will speak to customer services, hopefully they will help, in someway. Thanks for your help
