Hi, I have been told by the dealer who wrapped my arches black that I should not use car washes- which I thought was fine- don't use them anyway. But he then went on to say even if you use a pressure washer (which I do) this may affect the wrapping too. Can anyone confirm this? Or am I destined to a life of hand washing?

Cheers

can you not just hand wash the wrapped arches, and power wash the rest?

Hi, I wouldn't dream of power washing my pride and joy! Pressure washers can force water where you don't want it to go! And by hand washing you get up close and can see areas that need extra work eg tar spots etc.

Get up close and personal with your pride and joy!

My pressure washer has done no damage to my wrapped arches.

It's perfectly fine to power wash your car and wrapped arches. The two things to bear in mind are don't stand too close to the car when power washing, direct it at a 45 degree angle. The second thing is don't direct a jet of water at one single point. Keep the lance moving at all times..

Better to have snow foamed or pre washed first then power washed to rinse it all down THEN do the hand washing of the car and roof arches.

Keep power wash well away from boot lock. Getting water in lock can cause all sorts of problems. Had to have mine replaced as it caused a few electrical gremlins.

I realise it's not exactly Lincoln, but it should give you a general idea.
