Safety Recall Notification

Postby jrs » Thu Mar 03, 2011 11:34 am

Hi all, I received a safety recall notice by mail this morning. Campaign – YYW. This identified that a protective sheath must be fitted to a fuel pipe in the engine compartment. This sheath will avoid any potential damage to the pipe caused by contact with its surrounding components. I have to contact my dealer to make an appointment for the work to be carried out free of any charges. The recall is being carried out under the Code of Practice on Vehicle Safety Defects and will be monitored by the Vehicle and Operator Services Agency (VOSA). Recall Helpline 0845 756 5556. :o :greetings-wavingblue:

jrs

is yours a diesel??? It might be this:

PEUGEOT 308,3008,5008,807, RCZ & Expert III Recall

PEUGEOT announced a problem with the 308,3008,5008,807, RCZ & Expert III affecting a total of 2,834 vehicles.

On some 2.0 l HDI vehicles, potential contact between the fuel return pipe and the diesel filter support may eventually cause the pipe to become worn through friction. Vehicles built from 27/10/2009 to 20/7/2010 are at risk.

PEUGEOT intend to the manufacturer has requested that some protection be added to the pipe to ensure its long-term resistance to wear.

Source: UK Government's Vehicle and Operator Services Agency (VOSA).

If you think that your vehicle may be affected by this recall you should contact your nearest PEUGEOT dealer who will be able to confirm whether or not your car is safe and arrange its repair if necessary.

yup, got one for the RCZ that Peugoet took off me 8 months ago due to clutch failure

no letter for the current RCZ I have though. (theres a surprise)

A quick call to my local dealer and all RCZ's are effected and so I should have received a letter for my current car

anyhow, its booked in next week 20 min while you wait jobby.

that's odd - the only current RCZ recall on the VOSA website is for the 2.0 l diesel engines

recall YYW is for the following Peugeots with the 2.0 Hdi engine.

"YYW RECALL CAMPAIGN VEHICLES 308, 3008, 5008, 807, RCZ, EXPERT III"

It is only diesels with the 2.0 HDi engine.

Mines booked in for a twenty minute sit and wait slot. It is definitely not a two hour job.

I had my RCZ in for the recall this morning. It had been booked for nearly two weeks and guess what....

After waiting half an hour for the protective sleeve to be fitted the service guy came out and told me that they could not complete the job because they did not have all the parts!

Peugeot really need to up their game.
