Hiya.
I'm picking up my gorgeous new RCZ on the 25th and want to make sure i can protect the paint (and interior) from day one.

My local dealer has said that they would recommend applying Diamond Brite Ultra which they will do for approx £300.

Whilst I'm happy to get this done is it a good idea to get the main dealer to do or should I use an external company which specialises in this field?.

I'm just concerned 'my babies' gonna get treated by the Peugeot general odd job man who doesn't really give a damn!!

Any advice would be really appreciated.

My first question would be - are you someone who would regularly clean and wax their car? If the answer is No, then I would suggest getting some sort of paint protection on it.
However, I would be tempted to get something like a Gtechniq detail by a professional detailer, which could well be less money and IMO better value for money. Nothing personal against the dealer valeters but the time restraints that they have placed upon them means that they don't have the time to fully prep the paintwork so its perfect before the Paint Protection is applied. I know from personal experience that when the paints not prepped properly then the swirls, water marks, etc are sealed over leaving a not very impressive shine to the paint.

A Gtechniq detail using C1 will last up to 5 years.

I fully endorse what RCZ1 has written. I had my new RCZ detailed for the day by a professional detailer. The cost for a days work plus the materials was less than the main dealer charges for the standard paint protection. They don't get to spend anywhere near that length of time. The professional detailer will spent several hours preparing the paintwork properly before applying any sort of wax/polish. They will also do under the bonnet and wheel arches and other such places the main dealer wouldn't.
In short pay less and get a more thorough job and go to a detailing company in your area

As I have been in the valeting detailing game for a number of years I personally would never have any kind of protection done at a dealers I have seen and heard all sorts from people asking for wet vacs then the young lads just spraying dye on the carpets to make them look new and clean again to save time... to people paying the £300+ to have supagaurd etc put on valeters then just use any cheap polish they have avaliable on the car.. and customer just gets the after pack as the average person on the street would not know any different. of course not all dealers do this but valeters just do not have the time to prep the cars properly its not there fault the money is not great unless there turning cars around very quick.

Find yourself a good detailer dependent how much you want to spend they will either offer a protection only package using a good sealant or wax or normally there top package will be a machine polish first to get rid of any light swirling yes even new cars come with swirls and the odd small scratch then have a good sealant applied after either Gtechnic C1, Carpro Cquartz, Or new fave of mine Opticoat 2.0 which is a true permanent sealant which actually adds around 3 microns to the paint.
